A friend of mine sent me the following today. I’ve seen it before on Facebook and a few other places online but it’s worth sharing again. It breaks down this whole fiscal cliff nonsense into laymen’s terms so it’s easier to relate to.
National Budget Analogy #1:
U.S. Tax Revenue: $2,170,000,000,000

Federal Budget: $3,820,000,000,000

New Debt (each year): $1,650,000,000,000

Total National Debt: $16,271,000,000,000

Recent Budget Cuts: $38,500,000,000

Let’s now remove 8 zeros from each of the above numbers and pretend it’s your household […]
